Prohibited items include any substances or items that are hazardous or bulky like furniture, appliances, electronics, freezers, refrigerators, etc. These may also include household trash that is deposited by an unauthorized user or overly large items deposited by someone who is authorized to use the facility for household or business refuse. These items increase the clean-up and disposal costs for the property owners.
Is it against the law to use a multi-family or business dumpsters?
Yes, according to Georgia Code § 16-7-52, part of Title 16 Crimes & Offenses, Chapter 7 Damage to & Intrusion Upon Property, Article 2 Criminal Trespass and Damage to Property, Part 3 Waste Control, unauthorized use of a dumpster located on private property is a punishable offense and may lead to prosecution or litigation.
